MALLAH, FURMAN ACCOUNTING FIRM NAMES GERALD MAYERHOFF TAX MANAGER

MIAMI, (September 9, 2003) - Mallah, Furman and Company, one of South Florida's leading independent accounting, tax and consulting firms, announced that Gerald L. Mayerhoff, CPA/PFS, has joined the firm as tax manager in its Miami office.

With more than 20 years of experience, Mayerhoff is responsible for review and planning in all tax areas with an emphasis in fiduciary, gift, estate, high net worth individual, as well as corporate, partnership and private foundation tax returns. As a Personal Financial Specialist, Mayerhoff will bring added value to the firm's existing clients in planning areas such as tax reduction, succession, charitable and investment planning, as well as risk reduction and wealth retention.

Prior to joining the firm, Mayerhoff was tax manager at Berkowitz, Dick, Pollack and Brant in Fort Lauderdale. His previous experience includes working as a tax manager at J.H. Cohn, LLP in New York.

Mayerhoff earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Queens College in Flushing, N.Y. He received his master's degree in taxation from Pace University in New York.

He serves as a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the AICPA Personal Financial Planning Section, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, NYSSCPA Income Taxation of Estates and Trusts Committee and the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants.
