Mark Tourin, CPA, Appointed Chair to the Health Care Industry Committee of Florida Institute of CPAs
MIAMI, Fla., June 26, 2006 - Mark Tourin, CPA, of Mallah Furman in Miami has been appointed to serve as Chair of the Health Care Industry Committee of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA).
The FICPA Health Care Industry Committee provides relevant information on accounting and related matters to the health care community, and serves as a source of knowledgeable professionals to state regulatory authorities for evaluation and comment on financial issues and regulations impacting health care organizations. In addition, the committee plans an annual Health Care Industry Conference that attracts around 300 Florida CPAs each year. The conference offers continuing education for the attendees as well as updated information affecting the financial aspects of the health care industry.
Tourin is a partner at Mallah Furman and co-director of the firm's Health Care Division. He has more than 27 years of experience practicing in the areas of health care, medical practices, bankruptcy, hospitality and professional service corporations.
In addition to Tourin's professional responsibilities, he also serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the American Cancer Society in the Miami-Dade Unit. He is an active member of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the professional association representing the interests of more than 18,400 CPAs with over 4,400 offices throughout Florida.
