Arthur Unger Appointed to the Healthcare Facilities Authority Board
MIAMI, Fla., March 20, 2007 - Arthur Unger, CPA, partner at Miami-based accounting firm Mallah Furman, has been appointed by the Miami Beach City Commission to serve on the Healthcare Facilities Authority Board.
The Healthcare Facilities Authority Board is the conduit agency for the letting of tax-free bonds for healthcare facilities in the city of Miami Beach.
Born and raised in Miami Beach, Unger's civic involvement is far-reaching. He is a Life Trustee of the Miami Beach Chamber of Commerce and was recently elected Vice Chair of the Miami Jewish Home and Hospital. Unger is also active in Mt. Sinai's Foundation and serves as a member of the Foundation's Planned Giving Committee.
A graduate of the University of Miami, Unger started with Mallah Furman as a college intern in 1974 and has spent his entire professional career with the firm. He was admitted as a Principal and Shareholder in 1987 and now serves as Director of the firm's Healthcare Division. His expertise also includes the fashion and entertainment industries and not-for-profit organizations.
Unger's professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Healthcare Financial Management Association and the Florida Restaurant Association.
