FLORIDA HORSEMEN'S ASSOCIATION RECOGNIZES BARRY ROSE WITH FIRST "MAN OF THE YEAR" AWARD
MIAMI, Fla., Dec. 17, 2007 - Expressing gratitude and pride, the Florida Horsemen's Benevolent & Protective Association (FHPBA) awarded Mallah Furman Partner and CPA Barry R. Rose the first "Man of the Year" award at its Annual Dinner and Nomination meeting.
Rose serves as Treasurer for the Association and was presented a plaque which acknowledges his "efforts above and beyond." In particular, he is credited with working tirelessly with Association Executive Director Kent Stirling to help restore overnight purses and stakes. The Association has been operating with cuts in purses and stakes for several years.
Rose has over 38 years experience in public practice, with a specialized knowledge and expertise in thoroughbred racehorses and real estate. He also runs The Rose Family Stable and breeding operation.
As Mallah Furman's Tax Director, Rose has provided tax and advisory services in all aspects of corporation taxation, including domestic and international taxation, and all phases of individual taxation matters, stressing current tax-strategy planning techniques, forward planning and extensive estate tax planning. He has served as Treasure of the FHPBA since 2005. His other professional affiliations include the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants and Estate Planning Council of Greater Miami.
