Our firm's only business is our clients' success.
An Asian distributor of manufactured products chose Miami as its regional headquarters and distribution center for its major push into Caribbean basin markets. Starting with no infrastructure in place, the client anticipated achieving $1 million in sales per month within two years of starting operations. Mallah Furman was introduced to the client through its membership in the Beacon Council, the Dade County economic development organization.
We identified a comprehensive set of professional services needed to get this enterprise to full speed as soon as possible. Working with the client's local attorney, we created a tax efficient structure allowing for significant management flexibility while attempting to control and minimize U.S. taxes. We introduced the client to realtors and insurance agents so that office and warehouse space could be properly leased and insured. Working with client management, we selected an internationally recognized bank to provide financing of the local operations and provide for trade financing. We recommended an accounting information system (hardware and software) and oversaw its installation. On a monthly basis, we review the financial information generated by the system to ensure its accuracy and to prepare a summary report to send to the home office in Asia.
The client is now well along the way to achieving its sales goals. We continue to assist with management decision-making, preparation of tax returns and the planning for the eventual repatriation of profits to the home office.
